Chuck went above and beyond on at least 4 to 5 occasions that I can remember!! (The day of can be a bit of a blur.) He upgraded our dinner service; he found a bottle of champagne for the nervous bride and bridesmaids to be able to have a toast before the ceremony. Justin broke his boutineer right before the ceremony and Chuck magically fixed it, twice! Our cake had some weird funky bubble going on and again Chuck saved the day! My dad does not drink and we did not think of ordering nonalcoholic beer with our bar package. When my father asked Chuck, again he was able to pull some strings and get that taken care of as well!! Most importantly he was able to deal with my overbearing family with ease!
Court and I would like to say 'thank you' to The Abbey Catering for doing an out-standing job with our wedding!! Everything was spectacular and beyond our wildest dreams. That day was like a fairy tale with all the great decorations, food, and dedicated staff. I am so happy that the whole enchanted forest /fall theme/ secret garden vision came to life. So many of our guests told us "it was the best wedding they have ever been to" or "the decorations were the best we've seen". Court and I wish we could relive that day every year for the rest of our lives. Thanks again for all your hard work.
The Abbey Catering & Event Design Co. has been honored for the last three years running, 2012 through 2014, with being chosen as San Diego's Number One Caterer. The award, which is a people's choice vote, has over 100,000 votes each year to name The Abbey as San Diego's favorite caterer for weddings, corporate, and special events. Thank you, San Diego.
Overall, a stress-free experience the day of the wedding. I used The Abbey and worked out an all inclusive package (catering, photography, videography, rentals, coordination) which saved us a lot of time, planning, worry, and money. Photography by Deb Shields was amazing. The Abbey maintains a good network of vendors with which to partner for package deals. Check them out. They'll win you over at the tasting, make you want more with their accommodating pricing, and be friends for life after the wedding day.
Holy cow, The Abbey saved the day. They were great from beginning to end. We originally were working with a different caterer, had done the tasting and all that jazz. The food was good, but I wasn't "wowed" by it. So, about 6-8 weeks before the wedding we decided to change our idea all together. Our first caterer wasn't really responsive to it and we waited a week or so to hear back from them. My sister decided to call Abbey Catering with our idea of having a brunch for dinner and within one week we have a proposal, several revisions, and a final menu. The price was great, the people were fantastic and they were very professional. They are very familiar with the Bernardo Winery and it showed. They also provided great brunch food... waffles, omelet station, carved steak sandwiches, OJ, coffee, fruit, etc. Everyone raved about the idea of brunch and they made it happen with the quality. Thanks so much!
