Planes, Trains and Appetizers

Planes, Trains and Appetizers

It was a gigantic venue at one of the most respected and favored museums in Balboa Park, San Diego’s Air and Space Museum. The organization appreciation event was for a great cause, and everyone involved worked hard to make the day a success. The evening was in the theme of good times and travels, as guests got to experience significant times in history and taste many different cultures, it was just like we were taking them on a flight to eat a traditional meal from abroad. Guests flowed into a large atrium with planes and cars all around them, both suspended in the air and propped up on display, and they commenced their night of gaming, beverages and – saving the best for last – the food. Throughout the evening, the full service food stations were spread out to provide the vast space with tables and dance floors that could accommodate the eight hundred guests.

The cuisine consisted of a Glamorous Slider Bar with Angus Beef Sliders, a Sushi Station with California Rolls, Eel Rolls, Salmon Rolls and Tuna Rolls, The Orient Express Station of Soba Noodles and veggies, A Mexican themed station with authentic tacos and finally an Abbey specialty, the Shaken Not Stirred Salad Station.  This station was made up of fresh salad shaken in our large martini shakers and server as you like it for each guest.  All of this gave those in attendance a night in history that they wouldn’t soon forget.
