Located in Southern California, the forefront of green catering and organic foods, The Abbey Catering & Event Design has exactly what the discerning organic connoisseur is looking for in eco-friendly catering. Known in the industry as live catering, this means that we use locally grown and seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables as well as meats and dairy products that conform to a rigorous body of standards. Taking cues from local San Diego farmers markets, our menu is always fresh and changing.

We even take it a step further to ensure that we’re using sustainable products, such as bamboo based woods which save forests as well as avoiding chemicals that aren’t plant-based. Of course, this means recycling anything we can during your event to minimize our impact on Mother Earth. We have even created what we like to call “The Abbey Eco Bag” for brides and grooms to take some of their delicious event morsels with them after their event. With so much going on throughout the wedding day, many of the bridal party forget to eat. This way they get to partake of the food, even if they forget to.

Last year, 2014, brought us AbbeyFarms, our local organic farm based right here in the City of San Diego. With a resource like this, we’re able to source and grow our own organic food. Our farmers work directly with our chefs to choose plants and ingredients – with a level of creativity found no where else.
