About The Thursday Club
What more could you ask for than a venue that overlooks the vast Pacific Ocean and the San Diego Coast. Look no further than The Thursday Club located in Point Loma and Sunset Cliffs area. Perched atop the rolling streets of the surrounding neighborhood, The Thursday Club has a birds eye view that will leave your guests in awe especially when the sun slowly sets below the ocean’s horizon. The lush, manicured garden ceremony area fits up to 145 chairs, with standing room on the balcony above for 15. The historic clubhouse accommodates up to 175 guests for an intimate indoor seated dinner and reception.
There is something so charming about The Thursday Club as it is actually still a Woman’s Club that meets every Thursday in which they host fundraisers and volunteer events that contribute to the community. Built in 1927, the building is of Spanish architectural style and is incredibly romantic. The rooftop shingles and textured walls of the building are something out of a timeless love story. Inside the clubhouse there is an elegant yet quaint feel to the place. Beautiful hardfloor for dancing and in house furniture for your guests to lounge adorn the spaces. Stained glass windows and gorgeous chandeliers really make this space special. There’s even a fireplace for people to enjoy and mingle around. A fully functional stage is perfect for a live band or any other entertainment you’d like to provide for your guests including the cake cutting and sweetheart table.
Two balconies offer stunning views of the ocean and vibrant landscape. What’s nice about all these touches is that the venue requires little to minimal decoration on your part! Managed by Chris Erikson he makes sure that the property is in prime condition for you and your guests to have an unforgettable wedding experience. He is also your on site venue manager during your wedding you could not ask for a more professional, kind and experienced person that will take excellent care of you!
The Thursday Club allows a BYOB option (no kegs) for your bar but The Abbey Catering & Events can also provide a full bar package for you to make everything easier. They do include tables and chairs which is a steal considering many venues require you to bring in these outside rentals. Events end by 9pm which might be a little early for some folks but there is a lively nightlife down the hill in Ocean Beach specifically on Newport Ave.
Venue Pricing
The venue pricing is for an 8-hour facility rental:
Saturday = $4300
Friday & Sunday = $3900
Monday-Thursday = $2900
The initial deposit is a $1000 security deposit and 50% of the venue fee.
The Thursday Club is hands down one of the most uniquely stunning venues in the San Diego area. If you want that ocean vibe with an expansive view then this place is for you!
