For those of you that have never experienced Comic-Con and all the events that surround the area, you have to go once and see all the people in costume or characters from movies.  It’s better than Halloween! I was able to attend this on behalf of the Abbey Catering and captain the event.  I saw people from Star Wars, Star Trak, and Avatar, zombies and more.  It was outrageous.  As outrageous and crowed that it was so was the crowd and parking.  Let me tell you, my biggest challenge was the traffic and PARKING!  That was my first challenge, but not the last. I was their early in the morning to do a site inspection and I was shown my space that we caterers had to work with.  It was very limited and crowded.  It was maybe the size of a double size bed.  But with careful planning and time execution we made the event on time, got parking in front after a while, and set up a great kitchen for the Abbey’ s chefs and staff.  We were able to produce phenomenal food for the Yahoo premier attendees.

We had the most delicious desserts for the crowd.  We tray passed beef crustinis with a bernaise a tangy bernaise sauce, fresh seared ahi tuna on crisp cucumber with micro greens, hot New England crab cakes, juicy chicken sautee skewers drizzled with a Jamaican jerk sauce, tasty braised lamb ragu with a smoked eggplant sauce, and for those who were vegetarians fesh hot herbed cream cheese wontons with a delicious sweet Thai chili sauce and Ratatouille stuffed zucchini topped with fragrant basil.  But the the movie premier wouldn’t be complete without movie themed inspired desserts.  The guests got to enjoy phylo cups with a chocolate cream and crushed malt balls, raspberry chocolate  shooters with a raspberry coolie, chocolate covered popcorn balls for those chocolate lovers, and of course delicious organic caramel apple slices on skewers.  The evening was a blast and the space was transformed from a boutique of women’s clothes to a complete film party experience.
